Most of us have known people who were not trustworthy. It may have been because they did not attempt to be so. Or, it may have been because they thought they were, but weren’t. It may even been because they truly intended to be trustworthy, but just couldn’t manage it when the pressure was on.
The atmosphere created by untrustworthy people is one of uncertainty, fear, and anxiety. Who will be affected next? Who will be the next person promised something that wasn’t delivered? What form will the next unfulfilled expectation take? How will we ever get out of this mess?
The point is that we must be aware and not be drawn into the mode of being anything other than trustworthy. We must be so, even if others are not. Someone has to convey character, virtue, and credibility. Why not let it be us?
